The museum features hands-on-exhibits, science demonstrations, outdoor wildlife center, and a natural history collection. Seasonal traveling exhibitions are also conducted. The Planetarium is a great attraction here with its domed projection screen. Other features in the planetarium include surround sound, video projection, and breathtaking four storey tall multi-media imagery. Wildlife center at the museum houses a number of parrots, tortoises, snakes, and lizards. Live science demonstrations comprise shocking science slime time, cow's eye dissection and reptile encounters. Yet another attractive spot worth visiting is the Venetian Pool. Situated in a residential area of Coral Gables, the quarry site was designated as a public pool in 1924. It is bounded by a number of Spanish style buildings, a garden patio and a grotto. Venetian style Gondolas, a cave and a rock diving platform are other added attractions. The pool has a sandy sunning area nearby for sunbathers.
