Cutler Ridge Mall

- Southland Mall has 1,030,000 square feet of gross leasable area.
- Southland Mall is conveniently located on U.S. 1 and SW 205th Street, or off the Florida Turnpike, Exit 12.
- Southland Mall houses 100 specialty stores and five department stores: Macy’s, JCPenney, Sears, Kmart and Ross Dress-for-Less.
- A new Mercedes Benz of Cutler Bay is under construction at Southland Mall and it is expected to open Fall 2007.
- Southland Mall will be adding a new Bally's Fitness Center, TJ Maxx and Lane Bryant in Fall 2006.
- A 16-Plex Regal Cinema is under construction and is scheduled to open Summer of 2006.
- Southland Mall has added a new DSW.
- The South-Miami Dade Cultural Center, a 1,000-seat theater is located directly across from the mall and is scheduled to open winter 2007.
- Southland Mall is the only enclosed regional mall servicing South Miami-Dade County down to the Florida Keys.
- Southland Mall offers an international food court, as well as Applebee’s Restaurant.
- In 2003, Southland Mall underwent the following interior renovations:
- The addition of a Children’s Court provides a soft play area with vibrantly colored dinosaurs for the children to climb on, explore, and use their imagination.
- The development of a new Garden Court, which creates a true garden atmosphere. Nature and art come together as a new fountain rests below a luminous and colorful fiberglass ceiling sculpture, hand-designed by world-renowned Miami artist Ilana Lilienthal, famous for her larger-than-life flower art.
- Shoppers will feel the comforts of home with the addition sofas, coffee tables, carpeting and lamps in select areas.
- A lowered ceiling combined with vivid floral landscape treatments and window planters that bring the outdoors inside create a warm and intimate feel.
- The columns have been beautified with the addition of tile and accents.
- 19,000 new homes have been built and 16,000 additional new homes are planned in the South Dade trade area within the next 36 months, representing over 600,000 residents in the mall’s trade area.
- More than 48 million cars directly pass Southland Mall thoroughfares, U.S. Highway 1 and the Florida Turnpike, on a yearly basis. The traffic count on a daily basis is 49,500 on U.S. Highway 1 and 84,200 on the Florida Turnpike.
- Southland Mall is surrounded by South Florida’s top cultural attractions such as the Miami Metro Zoo, the Florida Everglades and Biscayne National Park.
- In November 2004, Miami-based T/S Development L.L.C became owners of Southland Mall. T/S Development L.L.C. was created by a partnership between James A. Schlesinger, President and CEO of Talisman Companies, L.L.C., and Jeffrey Schottenstein of Schottenstein Realty. With years of experience in the commercial development, leasing, and management business, Mr. Schlesinger and Mr. Schottenstein have come together on this project to create a fully integrated redevelopment company, filling an exclusive niche in the South Dade County marketplace.
