South Beach Travel Information

South Beach Travel Information

For many years South Beach has been a glamorous travel destination for people of all types. People come to South Beach for relaxation and vacation while commercial companies such as model agencies, magazine editors and nightclub owners continue to come to South Beach to start businesses. As South Beach has grown so has the number of excellent restaurants and hotels options.

When you are staying in South Beach you have several hotel options that you can select from based on your price range. Some of the more expensive options if you are planning on staying for a luxurious vacation or for special occasions such as an anniversary include the Victor which is located on the busy Ocean Drive and provides a calming place to stay with prices starting around three hundred a night. The most expensive hotel you can stay at in South Beach is the Setai which has rates that start at nine hundred a night. If you prefer to stay at a more established hotel then you can try one of two hotels that have been in South Beach the longest. These are The Hotel of South Beach which starts at three hundred a night and Shore Club which offers oceanfront rooms with rates starting at six hundred a night. A more standard approach is the Marriott South Beach which is located on Ocean Drive with a pool and Jacuzzi that overlooks the beach and features many rentals for water activities with rates starting at around four hundred a night.

Once you’ve decided on the place you want to stay then you will need to find a nice place to go out and eat. There are basically two types of restaurants you can choose from in South Beach. The first are those that have great setting with outdoor gardens or beach views and the second option is those that have great crowds which are attractive and well dressed. However, if you want both of these then you can choose to eat at the Wish which is with The Hotel of South Beach. There are a number of appetizers and desserts to choose from that start around ten dollars. Then for the main course two of the best options are the caramel glazed salmon and the coffee-braised osso buco which cost around thirty dollars. If you prefer a good meat meal then you can try Prime 112 on Ocean Drive which has excellent steaks, but you will need to make a reservation well in advance otherwise you won’t get a table. For great seafood you can go to Nemo which is the sister restaurant to Prime 112 located on Collins Avenue.

For an elegant restaurant with a great garden setting you can dine at the Barton G on West Avenue which serves contemporary American cuisine for twenty to fifty dollars an entrée. Although if you are looking for casual dining then a good option is the Cafeteria on Lincoln Road which serves most of the comfort foods including meatloaf, fried chicken and macaroni and cheese. The Cafeteria is open twenty-four hours and a entire meal for two with wine will cost around seventy-five dollars. Or you can try Rustica Pizzeria on Washington Avenue where you can get excellent thin crust pizza with quick service despite the constant long line.
